Photographing Casualties of War

Just in case some of you did not get my e-mail yesterday, examine the following photographs of war casualties from conflicts ranging from the American Civil War through the current war in Iraq.

How does the decision to publish these photographs compare to the AP's decision to publish the photograph of the dying Marine in Afghanistan? Is there any difference? If so, what is it? Would you publish all of them? Some of them? None?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
